On 1 October 2026 in Rome, Italy, on the sidelines of the 44th session of UN-Water, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Farrukh Hamralizoda and President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Chair of UN-Water, Alvaro Lario.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the further development of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan, IFAD and UN-Water, as well as prospective areas of international cooperation in the field of water resources and sustainable development.
The sides also exchanged views on preparations for and the holding of the UN Water Conference in 2028 in Dushanbe, emphasizing the importance of close cooperation and coordination of efforts in the preparation process for this event.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation and further strengthen interaction in areas of mutual interest.
