Britaniyanın “The HALO Trust” qeyri-kommersiya təşkilatı və Kanadanın “Mines Action Canada” (MAC) aparıcı şirkəti Britaniya Azərbaycanlıları Koordinasiyası Şurasının ölkəmizin azad olunmuş ərazilərində Ermənistan tərəfindən yaradılmış mina təhlükəsi barədə müraciətinə cavab verib.

“The Halo Trust” təşkilatının baş direktoru, ehtiyatda olan general-mayor Ceyms Kauenin və MAC-ın icraçı direktoru Erin Hantın adından Britaniya Azərbaycanlıları Koordinasiyası Şurasının idarə heyətinin üzvlərinə ünvanlanmış məktublarda icmamızın 15 iyul 2023-cü il tarixli məktubuna görə minnətdarlıq bildirlib.

“Siz minaların humanitar fəsadları ilə bağlı narahatlığınızı bildirirsiniz. Humanitar təşkilat kimi HALO imkan yarandıqca hər yerdə və hər zaman yerüstü minaların və digər partlayıcı qurğuların və sursatların təmizlənməsi ilə məşğul olur. Biz minalardan zərərçəkmiş bütün icmalar üçün daha təhlükəsiz və firavanlıq arzunuzu bölüşürük. Şübhəsiz ki, “HALO Trust” hakimiyyət orqanları arasında, o cümlədən BMT vasitəsilə regionda partlayıcı çirklənmənin xarakteri və yeri haqqında məlumat mübadiləsinə yardım edəcək. Mənimlə əlaqə saxladığınız üçün sizə minnətdaram”, – deyə baş direktor bildirib.

Azərbaycanda mina təhlükəsi ilə bağlı mövcud durum barədə məlumat verdiyi və bu məsələ ilə bağlı fikrini bölüşdüyü üçün Britaniya Azərbaycanlıları Koordinasiya Şurasına təşəkkürünü bildirən Erin Hant qeyd edib ki, Kanada hökumətinin dəstəyi ilə MAC artıq bir neçə ildir Cənubi Qafqazda minaların təmizlənməsi prosesini müdafiə edir.

Bu müdafiənin 2021-ci ildə uğurlu olduğunu vurğulayan icraçı direktor bildirib ki, tezliklə bu fəaliyyətin yenidən uğurlu olacağına ümid edir. O, əlavə edib ki, şirkətləri Azərbaycan Respublikasının Minatəmizləmə Agentliyində (ANAMA) çalışan azərbaycanlı həmkarları ilə sıx işləyir.

Erin Hant nəzərə çatdırıb ki, bu ilin may ayında MAC adından Bakıya səfər edib və II Beynəlxalq humanitar mina fəaliyyəti konfransına qatılıb. Bu konfransın Bakı və Ağdamda keçirildiyini vurğulayan kanadalı mütəxəssis yazıb ki, mina təhlükəsinin Azərbaycanda icmaların həyatına təsirini görüb və bununla bağlı öyrəndiklərini Kanada hökumətinin və parlamentinin rəsmiləri ilə bölüşüb.

On 23 March 2023 in New York on the margins of the United Nations 2023 Water Conference the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Ms. Terhi Hakala.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening political, trade and economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects.

In addition, during the meeting the parties exchanged views on the issues related to the impact of climate change on water resources in various regions of the world and the prospects for cooperation in the promotion and implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”.

On 23 March 2023 in New York, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the high-level event entitled “Central Asia: Commitments to include in the Water Action Agenda”, organized by the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and the World Bank with the support of the Government of Tajikistan in the framework of the UN 2023 Water Conference.

In his statement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, noting the important mission of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in providing the countries of the region with a platform for interaction on solving water and environmental issues, stated that the Tajik side, as part of its chairmanship in the Fund, is making every effort to further strengthen regional water cooperation and enhance the credibility of this unique organization.

Speaking about the problems associated with climate change, such as the glaciers melting, the river flow reduction, the increase in extreme hydrometeorological events, Minister Muhriddin noted that the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” and the current historic UN Water Conference provide unique opportunity for all stakeholders to make new commitments in this direction.

On 24 March 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the fifth Interactive Dialogue on the International Water Action Decade, jointly organized by the United States and Singapore.

In his speech, Minister Muhriddin noted that the Water Action Decade is primarily aimed at creating an additional platform that contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to water resources with a special focus on action.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, referring to the country’s commitments, mentioned the importance of using the Dushanbe Water Process as a mechanism to follow-up the implementation of the commitments made during the UN 2023 Water Conference.
